TAKE ONE PICTURE
For one week, the whole school based all their work around a specific painting. Each year group chose a painting and as well as studying the picture and the artist, the whole curriculum was inspired by their chosen picture for that week.
Year R - The Hay Wain - John Constable
Year 1 - Les Parapluies - Renoir
Year 2 - A George and the Dragon painting
Year 3 - La Gare St.Lazare - Monet
Year 4 & 5 - The Castle of Muiden in Winter - Beerstraten
Year 6 -The Experiment on the Bird in an Air Pump - Joseph Wright
It's amazing how one painting can inspire so many threads of work. Year 6 debated the pros and cons of using animals for experimentation, they studied vacuums in Science and they also discussed if the painting was being painted in 2017 what the centrepiece of their photo may be. Year 3 created their own version of their chosen painting based on Farnham station. To see some of the amazing art inspired by Take One Picture, play the video to the left.
